Reasonable Use and Care Guidelines
Do not bend excessively
Your Jazz Band is designed with the flexibility needed to wrap around various limbs and joints; however, please wrap it gently and do not flex the device beyond what is necessary to secure it in place. The Jazz Band is designed to flex primarily along its length. While it is flexible in all dimensions, avoid bending or flexing the device around its width. Do not wrap the device more tightly than is necessary and avoid rolling the device.
Do not stretch, pull, or tug at the device
While the Jazz Band is designed to be flexible (bending or wrapping), excessive stretching, tugging or pulling in any direction can damage the device.
Do not apply excessive pressure or force against the device
For example, while wearing the device on the knee, do not kneel upon the device; or while wearing the device on the elbow, do not lean upon your elbow. Avoid setting heavy objects upon the device. Do not step on the Jazz Band.
Keep your Jazz Band cool and avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other heat sources
Like most electronic devices, exposure to direct sunlight and other heat sources can cause over-heating which may interfere with the device’s operation and potentially damage or destroy the device. The maximum ambient temperature during use of the Jazz Band must not exceed 90F or 32C. Use only indoors or in a cool, dry, shaded area.
Keep away from pets
Some pets may find the Jazz Band to be a tempting treat. Needless to say, most people would not permit their pets to snack on their mobile phones. Likewise, please keep your Jazz Band safely away from curious pets. Chewing or chomping may damage or destroy your Jazz Band.
Be aware of accidental cord disconnect
While wearing your Jazz Band -- as the discomfort subsides -- you may forget you are wearing it and inadvertently get up and walk away. Moving beyond the reach of the electrical cord can result in a sudden strong tug. While the Jazz Band cord is designed with a quick disconnect plug, walking away from the outlet, or tugging excessively at the cord, can damage or destroy your Jazz Band.
Guidelines for Lending:
If you lend your Jazz Band to another person (a very kind thing to do, by the way), please ensure they are aware of and abide by all safety, use and care guidelines. The Reasonable Use and Care Guidelines apply to all individuals who gain access to and/or use of your Jazz Band.
Safety
Electrical Safety
Your Jazz Band is a sophisticated electronic device which runs on 12V DC power provided by a power adapter that plugs into a 110V outlet (or an optional Car Adapter or Cordless Power Pack). Please exercise caution when plugging and unplugging the power adapter and device. As with any electric or electronic device, please keep children and pets away from electrical connections. The Jazz Band is designed to operate only with the power adapter that is provided with your product. Do not use any other power adapters to operate the Jazz Band. Do not use your Jazz Band if the device, electrical cord, or power adapter are damaged. While your Jazz Band is water resistant, avoid wetting or submerging your Jazz Band (unless you have purchased a Jazz Band Splash model), and keep all electrical connections free from moisture. Our Jazz Band Splash model is designed for underwater use and is fully submergible. However, please note that the power button switch on the Jazz Band Splash should still be kept out of water to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Optical Safety
Your Jazz Band emits low levels of red light, near infrared light, and magnetic signals. While these low-level signals are both safe and effective, it is advisable that you do not stare directly into coherent light sources like those emitted by the device. Before turning on your Jazz Band (by starting a “Session”), it should be secured in place (for example, around your knee, ankle, foot, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, lower back, neck, or wherever you feel the need) with the white surface, through which light and other signals are emitted, facing toward your skin (see Usage instructions). This will keep the red light, near infrared light and other signals safely out of direct line of sight. Please note that near infrared light is generally not visible, and some users may not see red light, so please follow these safety guidelines every time your device is operating.
